Job Title:Commodity Manager – Board Electrical

Location:Shenzhen

Role:

The Commodity Manager will be responsible for managing the execution of sourcing strategies, capable of delivering high quality, cost-effective materials that meet project requirements. This position is responsible for cost, quality, and delivery of certain PCBA electrical components to our Contract Manufacturing (CM) partner in China.

Responsibilities:

1. Manage and execute Commodity Strategies for board electrical products, with primary focus on actives and passives.

2. Achieve cost, quality, and delivery goals and objectives for standard and custom components through our CM.

3. Influence design decisions in the interest of achieving optimal cost, quality, and delivery.

4. Strive to achieve a competitive sourcing environment among multiple qualified suppliers through development and execution of commodity strategies.

5. Develop and negotiate supply contracts.

6. Interface with other members of the OPS Team – and as required – Engineering and Program Management to assess current and future sourcing requirements

7. Participate in quarterly business reviews of sourcing plans that defines, among other things, market environment, capable suppliers, and annual / quarterly strategic objectives

8. Manage overall supplier relationships

9. Maintain knowledge of market trends including analysis of market drivers, cost structures, technical improvements and competitive landscape.

10. Periodic travel to supplier’s manufacturing sites.

11. Support our CM’s business requirements including annual cost reductions, VMI/JIT, lead-time reductions, favorable payment terms, etc.

Requirements:

1. Minimum of 5 years experience in operations, manufacturing, sourcing in supplier / supply chain management

2. Supply chain experience procuring production materials in a “hardware” product company environment.

3. Familiarity with world-class sourcing methods and tools.

4. Negotiation experience with supply agreements with suppliers with a proven track record in cost reduction.

5. Knowledge and experience with Continuous Improvement and other similar methodologies.

6. Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Fluent in English and Mandarin.

7. Exceptional ability to solve problems and coordinate with global team members.

8. Ability to be innovative in issues related to sourcing, vendor relations, quality assurance and the associated measurement systems.

9. Strong analytical skills (i.e. cost modeling, quotation analysis, supplier selection)

10. Expertise in the use of Microsoft Excel required.

11. Degree in Business, Operations Management or Engineering.
